Copyright has a long history
some are advocates and others are not. Whatever your thoughts
copyright is a right enshrined in law.
I personally have come to
understand what it means to have copyrights. My mother, Joy Hester
(1920-1960) has had many of her artworks published and many controversial
interpretations of her life have enjoyed public exposure. When
this occurs my personal life has become public, by default my
life is known more to others than myself. The copyright holders
including myself enjoy the small sums of copyright royalties,
generated from Viscopy and Copyright Agencies diligence.
To reproduce and/or copy
of Joy Hester, Gray Smith and Fern Smith's artworks, images and
designs contact Viscopy the organisation which manages the copyrights.
If you are new to asking for permission Viscopy are an agency
which will assist as much as possible. Information on the cost
downlaod Viscopy's
PDF. If you are running a business or organisation the cost
charged is a cost incurred therefore you can retrieve the cost
as a cost. For more information and clarification go to Australian
taxation Office.
